Coupling plant with building

In TRNSYS active systems can be coupled with the building simulation. For example, it is possible to simulate a ventilation system or a heat pump system in detail and to transfer the results directly to the building in order to investigate the interaction and mutual dependencies.

In the following example, the ventilation system is illustrated using Type 336. The supply air temperature, supply air humidity and supply air flow rate are defined as input in the Ventilation Regime as shown in Figure 1. Then, as in Figure 2, the outputs of the ventilation Type 336 system can be transferred to the generated inputs of the building Type 56.

It is also possible to separate the system from the building simulation. In a first run the building is to be simulated. In the second simulation deck the simulation results of the building simulation must be read in via an external data reader (e.g. Type 9) and transferred again as input to Type 56.
